On Good Friday, we gather to remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and to ground ourselves in the good news revealed through nonviolence. Through scripture, poetry, hymns, and special music, we reflect on Jesus’ final hours and the love he embodied even in the face of betrayal, suffering, and death.
Guided by the Gospel of Luke, we witness Jesus heal the servant’s ear at the moment of his arrest, refuse retaliation, and offer forgiveness to those who crucify him. In this holy commemoration, we remember that Jesus willingly laid down his life—not to seize power, but to reveal that he is Lord of all, even over death.
