Prayer, friendship, and quilting

Quilters and sewing fans, rejoice! University UMC celebrates creative textiles. From beginners and kids to veterans who deftly control wrinkling and buckling and make true right angles, all are welcome to share time and talent in this fun, unique prayer group. Led by Rhonda Ingham.

You've got the music in you!

University is home to Funkytown Music Academy, Fort Worth's grooviest music school (in our own minds, at least)! With private and group instruction for many instruments, a sliding scale of fees for kids who need it, seasonal music camps, and the Mini Mozarts early childhood music program, Funkytown is a place where creativity and musicianship bloom.

Infant through 5th grade

Wiggle, Wonder, and Worship together while learning about God and loving our neighbors! University UMC loves children and welcomes them in all worship services. Kid-friendly Bibles & Activity Kits are available for all services! Additionally, there are opportunities for them to engage with other children in fun, age appropriate learning.

Young Children

  • Nursery Children (infants to age 4) receive nurturing while they learn through playing and singing. The nursery is available during Sunday morning worship services and Bible studies (upon request).

  • Wiggle Church. Families with young children grab dinner, play, and worship together in Community Hall on Thursdays at 5:30pm. Email the Children's Pastor for all the latest!

Children grades K-12

  • Kids' Space. During Community Worship at 11:00am, children may choose to participate in Kids’ Space, a fun discipleship time with Bible lessons and activities that parallel the weekly sermons.

  • BLAST! (Believing, Loving, and Serving Together) meets once each month from 12:15-2:00pm usually on the 2nd Sunday, Children enjoy lunch and games and explore ways to experience faith in action.

  • Camp Creative is a one week day camp that fosters children's interest in the arts and connects their creativity to Christian faith. This year's camp is July 29-August 2.

Coffee and Bible study for adults

There’s always more to learn about living out your faith. It’s not all books, notes, and deep thinking, though. Find friendship and community in the Adult Study Group. Find your place to belong in this weekly study group. Meets Sundays at 11am. George Jensen facilitates and is here to help you connect!

Students grades 6-12

University United Student Ministries offers friendships with other teens and caring adult staff. Students explore faith through Bible study, learning to pray and worship together, plus love and serve our neighbors in missions and service projects in Fort Worth and beyond (like house-building trips to Acuna, Mexico), while having adventures together (like Summer Beach Camps!) Email Student Ministries director Haley Bryant to learn more.
